More than just a degree : BTech

I thought i was here just to earn a degree, copy and paste assignments, from passing exams just by studying one night before to hoping that someday i will be managing "google" ,yes you heard it right! ,i imagined it all ,but it's really much more than how it imagined it to be.

If you are in your initial years of BTech or thinking to pursue BTech and thinking of getting hired by companies like GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, INFOSYS.....(and the list goes on) with a minimum salary of 10 LPA, it will definitely happen because dreams do come true my friend .SPOILER ALERT :it takes a lot. Let me take you along through this roller coaster of my life .....grab some popcorns and gather some mental strength if you lack in it(because that's majorly required)

 STEPPING INTO ENGINEERING :

Believe me when i first stepped into my first year and  i was introduced to the course or the subjects i thought it's just a piece of cake for me .I know you are laughing right ,well thank me later for releasing your stress.

FRESH START:

So when you are new in college ,it is like completely new phase , new faces ,new friends, and that zeal to do everything and becoming a millionaire is quite good
(in your dreams ). Freshers take place ,and you get to interact with your seniors and you are scared of them initially later they become your best buddies to hang out with .I was talking about piece of cake ....and then cultural fest takes place which is like cheery on the top or should i say cherry on the cake .I had a blast during my cultural fest as i enjoy dancing and to dance your heart out with your friends ,isn't it the best feeling....so overall first year was going good and then boom exams ...assignments.....deadlines .....and our favorite teachers.

REALITY HITS:

Just when you start thinking college life is all about fests, friends ,and fun reality decides to gate crash your dreamy life. Suddenly that feelings of "piece of cake" looks puzzled itself so who am i ?The timetable suddenly becomes long ,assignments becomes Akshay Kumar(coming back to back on screen ,which is my life. And deadlines becomes Mr. India (which we can not ever met). And let's just not forget the SRK of all of it (TEST AND EXAMS) .

Teachers start recognizing you not just by your name but how good you are performing(that's unfair right ). Group projects is like putting all genre altogether in one film ,and we all know that one teammate who does nothing and always want to take credit for all the work done.

First year was fun ,no doubt .But i realized that this journey is not going to be smooth ...with the constant thought provoking ,do i really want to do engineering? Am i really meant for it (the life really goes on my friend.)

ADAPTING AND EVOLVING:

It wasn't easy at first -the pace, the pressure, the subjects(they are tough until you study them thoroughly) ,the unexpected turns ,and BTech is incomplete if i don't mention it ,the DSA ,(important and not easy). But slowly ,i started figuring things out. I learned how to mange time ,be consistently managing multitasks and that hope that you can do it (because in BTech only this can make you survive).

NOT JUST GRADES BUT GROWTH :

When you have just graduated from school by scoring some good percentage ,you come along with that stereotype that you are an efficient child or you have the skill to do whatever you want to if and only if you score good marks .Basically your marks define your career ,or should i call it like your skill ,your potential ,your position ,your ability are just synonyms of MARKS. At least i 'used to' think this . (believe me i laughing on my younger self when i say this).

College gives you that actual reality check that marks on that sheet of paper is just a number ,the pressure to score well is real (not denying this fact) but more than that ,it was about how i did new learnings ...how i started to speaking up in the group discussions ,took lead in projects ,stood up for myself ,learning to balance academics with life. Growth happened in silent ways -
-in mindset
-in confidence
-in maturity
-in believing yourself
-in maintaining relationships
-in accepting your flaws
-..........(and the list goes on... )

I would say BTech is more about becoming me.(obviously apart from engineer ). that 2.0 version of myself that doesn't give up easily ,one who finds joy in small wins(because that's the only win you have) ,that understands failure deeply ,knows the importance and value of people surrounding you ,one who knows consistency is the only key ,one who knows if you really put effort....success will come in!
